Jeanne Hunt provided a Night of Reflection for our 7th and 8th Grade Confirmandi on February 6. As always Jeanne mixed a little light hearted humor in with her presentation and provided students, parents and sponsors food for thought about the important Sacrament they are about to receive.
There was a good attendance at 10:30 Mass Sunday, February 17 as the Confirmandi participated in an Inscription Ceremony. The entire congregation was able to share in a part of their preparation for Confirmation.
The evening of February 8th whirled away as our girls enjoyed the companionship of their favorite fellows and their friends. Refreshments were available while the DJ kept up a lively cadence. The evening was complete success.
This year’s testing will be conducted from March 4 through March 22. Please be sure your children are well rested and fortified with a good breakfast. It is important that all students are present and are in their classrooms on time. Your cooperation is very much appreciated.
Ash Wednesday is March 6 this year. The students will participate in an All School Mass at 8:50 a.m. – all are welcome to celebrate the Eucharist with their children. To present God with recognition for His gift of salvation, it is a common practice to sacrifice something we like. But equally appreciated (and possibly more difficult) would be to do something positive for someone you find it hard to get along with or volunteer to help out at home or with an elderly person. “Acts of Kindness” are a positive way to show God’s love to others – and to create good habits of compassion too!
Parent/Teacher Conferences will be conducted On March 7 from 3:30-7:30 p.m. This is the perfect opportunity to discuss your students’ progress and/or problems one on one with their teacher. It is an important time of interaction of partners in the education of each child.
Showdown at Resource Ranch
On March 12 students in K through 8 will be privileged to see a production by the National Theater for Children in cooperation with Duke Energy. The Wild West Theme will include information about energy conservation and resources and tips challenging students and staff to save energy at home.
This year the students will enjoy a full week of spring break from March 25 through March 29. It will not interfere with our Easter celebration of Christ’s Resurrection. Good Friday, April 19th and Easter Monday, April 22 will also be free days to honor the gift of salvation that God has given us.
