Science Fair
We are very proud of our students in the 7th and 8th Grade for the work they did in researching and producing their projects for the St. Louis School Science Fair on January 23. Five teams of judges reviewed the projects and the ratings were as follows:
EXCELLENT: Zoey Eichenlaub, Max Gildea, Rachel Noschang, Larissa Shoemake, Tori Strobl, Jayden Trimble, Abbie Broussard, Alex Busam, Serenity Dyer, Maria Ellison, Levi Holden, Will Mathews, Ryan Melcher, Logan Schmidt, Meredith Stetson, Evie Thompson and Carson Zurmehly.
SUPERIOR: Paige Bartlett, Alex Bernhardt, Xavier Carnicom, Ethan Gardner, Nathan Kulbe, Jack McGreevy, Nicholas Raab, Nick Rose and Ben Scheffter
All students rating in the Superior category will be continuing on to the Regional Competition at the University of Cincinnati. Eight of the students rating Excellent have been invited to compete in the Regional Competition as well.
We congratulate all the students on their hard work. We would also like to extend appreciation for the teachers and adults who guided them through the process in order to complete their projects.
Sacramental News
January 16 marked the 1st Reconciliation for students at St. Louis School and St. Louis PSR. We ask you to pray for these children as they continue to grow in their faith and receive additional Sacraments.
Catholic Schools Week
St. Louis School opened our annual celebration of Catholic Education by having the Open House on January 27. We had a number of interested prospective parents touring the school led by our Junior High students. The week continued with a flurry of fun activities and games and “Showdown at Resource Ranch” energy saving presentation viewed by our Kindergarten through 6th Graders.
LOOKING AHEAD:
Confirmation
Students preparing for Confirmation, their parents and their sponsors will attend a “Night of Reflection” with guest speaker Jeanne Hunt on February 6 at 7:00 p.m. in the church. There will also be a Faith Sharing Interview for students in St. Louis School on February 27. PSR will have this Interview during PSR on February 24.
Sports
The 8th Grade Boys Basketball Recognition Game will start at 12:00 p.m. on February 9. All are invited to attend and support our St. Louis Boys Basketball Team. Students and staff get in free
There will be a Basketball Tournament on February 16 from 9:00-5:00 p.m. in the gym. As always, everyone is welcome to attend.
President’s Day
There will be NO SCHOOL on February 18 in honor of all the men who have served our country as president. Remember to set aside a few minutes to thank God for our country and ask for the blessing of continued freedom and guidance for our leaders. “The Living Lincoln” show will be presented to the entire school on February 26 at 2:00 p.m.
