SPOTLIGHT ON ST. LOUIS SCHOOL – January 2019
The students brought in boxes of supplies for the St. Vincent De Paul Christmas Drive. The Lego Drive for leukemia patients at Children’s hospital yielded close to 50 Lego sets to help children occupy their time during chemo treatments. Both activities are a great exercise in caring, helping and selflessness teaching Christ’s doctrine of loving others during this special season.
St. Nicholas made his appearance in the classrooms on December 6 and the Kindergarten through 5th grade enjoyed a fine arts production of “Reindeer Games” on the same day!
Practices for the student’s gift to their parents are in full swing. Mr. Kyle Conley, the music instructor, Mrs. Laura Peterson, and all the children are working hard to present their talents to parents, families and friends to remember that Christ is the center of Christmas. December 19 is always hectic with classroom festivities and the anticipation of a Christmas Break. But don’t forget to return to school on January 3!
Students in the 2nd Grade will be receiving their First Reconciliation on January 16, 2019 at St. Louis Church. Please keep them in your prayers as they take their first sacrament in their journey of faith.
Sunday, January 20th , during 10:30 mass at St. Louis will be the Confirmation Inscription Ceremony for students in the 7th and 8th Grades. Please pray that their instruction and reception of Confirmation in May will impact their lives in a significant increase of faith in Christ.
Our St. Louis Science Fair will be on January 23 after school this year. Our students have done quite well in past years, several have qualified for state competition and a few continue on to regional events. We are certainly proud of the hard work and thought that they put into their projects. We are still looking for a couple of people who might be interested in judging this event. Please contact Betsy Leu at 732-0636. Thanks for helping.
Open House – Catholic School’s Week
January 27 – February 1, 2019 is the week of celebration for Catholic Schools. Our school will have various activities scheduled including the fine arts production of “Showdown at Resources Ranch” for Grades K through 6.
Our Open House is scheduled for Sunday, January 27 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. We firmly believe in the worth of a Catholic Education. The values of respect for others as well as for self, courtesy and compassion are encouraged in and out of the classroom. If you know someone who is looking for a place to send their child to school, we would appreciate the recommendation.
