Congratulations are in order for our Music Teacher, Kyle Conley, who has received his masters degree in Music Education. We are all proud of his accomplishment!
Council on Child Abuse
On November 20 the Council on Child Abuse presented a School-Based Personal Safety Program to the students. During the one hour presentation the students were taught to recognize potentially dangerous situations. They were taught about child abuse, bullying behavior and internet safety. Strategies for prevention were presented to them. And they were given opportunities to disclose concerns and given intervention and support referrals as appropriate.
Once again we would like to thank the parents and students of St. Louis School for their generous donations to the St. Vincent De Paul Thanksgiving Food Drive. Our school always brings in an impressive store of canned and dry goods to be used for the Thanksgiving baskets distributed to the less fortunate. This year our donation was increased by eight cases of vegetables plus stuffing and other assorted items from Viola Frank and Joyce Carter. Thank you girls!
Team Kylie began their 3rd Annual Lego Toy Drive to assist the Dragonfly Foundation providing Lego Sets for children and young adults with cancer to pass the long hours of treatment. At last count there were 40 sets donated by students and their families…and the drive does not end until December 8. There is still time to be a part of this supportive endeavor. Any new, unopened (and in the original packaging) lego set can be brought to the drop boxes in St. Louis School or Church. Thank you in advance for your caring gesture.
St. Louis School had visitor from St. Mary’s Seminary of the West, the Athenaeum of Ohio. Eddie Hoffman spoke with the students in groups on the topic of the Golden Rule. It was a great experience for the children to be able to interact with and ask questions of a young man headed for a life devoted to God.
